Every creative act begins with desire and impulse. Michael Rogovsky has always explored the figure in drawing and painting. His work deals not just with the individual figure but he captures the universality of the human condition which is the common bond of humanity.

Joan 25 years old John 24 years old James 22 years old Sarah 21 years old These four painting were painted in direct response to the AIDS crisis. They were the result of seeing the drastic wasting away of people in the space of only one year, prior to the administration of the "cocktail." The artist feels that it is important to show the terrible ravages of AIDS now that a certain complacency has overtaken the gay community.  The artist would prefer to sell these four paintings as a unit.
